Sound Opinions interviewed Midlake recently, and I was pleased that the band sounded as smart and creative during their interview as they do on their albums.
Midlake’s sound is a little like Fleetwood Mac, in a good way, but their songs are much more interesting. They can spin a good yarn.

I have just discovered The White Stripes and I gotta say their album Icky Thump made a good first impression and it keeps growing on me. Love the humor and energy, love the styles, love the way Jack and Meg White have dug up some old musical “rags and bones” and made them into something new and irresistible.
